Researchers looked at many health questions and compared how doctors and computer programs answered them. Most of the time people liked the computer answers more because they were longer and felt much more caring. Doctors are very busy and often give short answers but the computer can take its time to explain things well. This does not mean computers will replace doctors but they can help doctors write better messages to their patients more quickly. By working together the doctors can save time and still make sure every patient gets a very good and friendly answer.
